Certified Educational Planner

In 2003, Independent Educational Consultant Erin Croddick Avery founded Avery Educational Resources, LLC, a practice that specializes in counseling students and their families throughout the college and boarding school search and application process. A proponent of "Best Fit Decisions®", Avery works one-on-one with students and parents to target colleges or preparatory schools that best match a student's individual skills, needs and passions.

Avery received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Boston College and continued her education at Oxford and Yale Universities, where she earned two masters degrees. She then served as a boarding school chaplain and department head, and also as an administrator and adjunct professor at Georgian Court University. Avery is recognized as a Certified Educational Planner, a distinction earned by less than two hundred educational professionals worldwide.

Avery's numerous industry credentials also include membership in the Independent Educational Consultants Association, Professional Level (iecaonline.com); the National Association of College Admissions Counselors (NACAC); the New Jersey Association of College Admissions Counselors (NJACAC); the Higher Education Consultants Association (HECA); The Association of Boarding Schools (TABS) and the Secondary School Admissions Board (SSATB). Avery was selected to participate in Columbia University's Klingenstein Summer Institute for exceptional private school educators and has presented at educational conferences, including The Association of Boarding Schools (TABS).

Respected for her thorough evaluations and compassionate approach, Avery advocates traditional "in-person" meetings, but also offers the latest technological enhancements. She recently launched CollegeApp® - an innovative, student-focused college search application for the iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad. As a supplementary service, Avery Educational Resources organizes annual seminars and monthly workshops, including Operation Application, a small group tutorial that streamlines the application process for rising seniors.

Headquartered in Fair Haven, New Jersey, Avery Educational Resources also counsels students and families in New York City and abroad.

A life-long resident of Monmouth County, New Jersey, Avery resides with her husband Charles and their three children.
